Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Cairo airport, our team will greet you, aid with visa procedures, and assist in collecting your luggage. We'll then arrange your transfer to the hotel. Our representative will facilitate your check-in, providing guidance as needed. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your pace. If your flight arrives early, consider exploring the majestic pyramids through a captivating sound and light show, or venture into downtown Cairo for a delightful Nile dinner cruise and show.

Day 2SundayPyramids, Sphinx and Museum Breakfast Down

Your journey in Egypt starts with a visit to the iconic Sphinx and the majestic pyramids of Giza. Stand at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, once covered in bright white limestone, and admire its grandeur. Nearby, the smaller pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure rise against the desert skyline. You may even get the chance to explore the inside of the pyramids, though guides are not permitted, and tickets for the Great Pyramid are limited. Next, visit the Egyptian Museum, home to a vast collection of ancient relics, including the famous Tutankhamun exhibit. Your Egyptologist guide will offer insights into Egypt's fascinating history. At the end of the day, you'll fly to Aswan, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel with stunning Nile views.

Day 3MondayNile cruise, Aswan Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Down

One option this morning is to explore the remarkable temples at the awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage site of Abu Simbel. Departing early, the aim is to witness the breathtaking sunrise over these temples. For those not opting for Abu Simbel, the morning is free for leisure. Otherwise as dawn breaks over the Nile River, we awake to the captivating panorama of Aswan, a vibrant tapestry of African and Middle Eastern cultures. Our morning invites leisure and exploration, whether strolling along the picturesque Corniche, immersing ourselves in the bustling markets, or delving into the fascinating history of the Nubian people at the Nubian Museum. We check out of our hotel and we embark on our Nile cruise boat to savor a delectable lunch, the Nile's mesmerizing scenery unfolds before us, its tranquil waters and palm-fringed shores captivating our senses. In the afternoon, we embark on an enthralling excursion to the Temple of Philae, a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis. This architectural marvel, once threatened by the rising waters of Lake Nasser, was meticulously relocated to its current island location. As we approach the temple by boat, its majestic pylons and intricate carvings leave us in awe of the ingenuity and artistry of ancient Egypt. The rest of the day is free though an option is also available to take a camel ride through the sands on the far bank of the Nile to St. Simeon's monastery.

Through the imposing Bab al-Futuh gateway, we venture into a realm of sights, sounds, and aromas, where each street unveils a unique tapestry of treasures. Day 10MondayCairo, free day Breakfast Down

Your day is yours to seize for any final sightseeing or shopping ventures until we accompany you to the airport for your departure flight. For those departing in the afternoon or evening, you have the option of a half-day tour exploring Coptic Cairo and the Citadel. Alternatively, delve into the evolution of pyramid building with another half-day tour to Saqqara, Dashour and Memphis. Should you desire an extended stay, additional nights in Cairo provide opportunities for a day trip to the coastal colonial city of Alexandria on the Mediterranean or an excursion into the desert to witness the World Heritage Site of the Valley of the Whales at Wadi Rayan.

Notes

  1. Group Size : Minimum Group Size of 2. Maximum Group Size of 18.
  2. Age : Minimum Age of 8. Whilst there is no Maximum Age set it is assumed the customer is fit enough to take part in the activity or tour. Health documents may be requested.
  3. Single travellers are obliged to pay Single Supplement and will have the hotel room to themselves.
  4. Hotel Gala Dinners - Hotel Gala Dinners - Many of Egypt and Jordan's hotels and Nile cruise boats arrange a very special gala dinner with entertainment in the evening on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Payment for these is often optional on Christmas Eve (24 Dec) but may be compulsory on New Year's Eve (31 Dec), whether you attend or not. Prices can range from around US$50 to over US$150 per person. Final decisions on prices and whether dinners are compulsory are made relatively close to the time. We aim to always select hotels that make their Gala Dinners optional, though this is is not always possible. Gala dinner prices are therefore not included in our tour prices, but will be added to your booking if they become required. More information is available on request.
  5. Child Discount : Age 8 - 11 sharing room with 2 full paying adults pays 25% and child will have a fold up bed.
  6. Nile Cruise itineraries are subject to slight alterations.
