In the afternoon, we embark on an enthralling excursion to the Temple of Philae, a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis. This architectural marvel, once threatened by the rising waters of Lake Nasser, was meticulously relocated to its current island location. As we approach the temple by boat, its majestic pylons and intricate carvings leave us in awe of the ingenuity and artistry of ancient Egypt.
The rest of the day is free though an option is also available to take a camel ride through the sands on the far bank of the Nile to St. Simeon's monastery.
