This 10 day tour, starts in Baku (Azerbaijan) travels through Georgia and ends in Istanbul (Turkey), and visits Shirvanshah's Palace, Sheki Khan's Palace, Ateshgah (Fire Temple), Gobustan National Park, Georgia National Museum, Narikala Fortress and much more.
Welcome to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan! Today is arrival day, you will be met at the airport and transfered to your hotel. The reminder of the day is free time.
Today we will see Maiden's Tower, then we will visit Shirvanshah Palace and pass through the Shekekha gate. We head to Targovi which means "merchants' street" in Russian and is known by the public as the commercial center.
After breakfast, we will set off for Gobustan a UNESCO World Heritage site. In this area, there are numerous archaeological remains, settlements, tombs, starting from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. We will continue to Absheron Peninsula and we will visit the Temple of Fire a temple of fire worshippers located in Suraxani village. Zoroastrians travelled thousands of kilometers from India to Ateshgah to worship fire coming out of the earth.
We will drive towards to Sheki, the city will captivate you with its magnificent views. We will visit Sheki Khan's Palace and delicious sugar factories. In the city, which was famous for trade, there were many caravansaries but only a few of them have survived to the present day.
Get ready for Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. We will reach the city by passing through Lagodekhi border crossing. We will explore the Georgia National Museum and St. Isaac's Cathedral and witness Tbilisi's religious and cultural richness and tolerance. You will have opportunity to visit one of the healing Sulphur baths if time permits.
Today our stop is Narikala fortress, the history of the castle is dated back to the Persians ruled times. Next stop will be the Metekhi Church, which preserves its magnificence from the century to present. As our journey continues, we will stop by the historical city of Mtskheta which was the capital of the Georgian Kingdom. We will also visit the Cathedral of Svetitskoveli where the robe if Christ is buried
After breakfast, we will head to the train station for your train journey to Batumi. Upon arrival to Batumi, we will drive towards the streets of the city which is one of the most beautiful in the Black Sea region. We will have the opportunity to see the Statue of Ali and Nino about the love story of Azeri boy and Georgian girl.
Explore the largest Botanical park of Caucasus region. In addition to the semi-tropical plants peculiar to Caucasia, the garden has more than 5,000 plants, and there are sections where plants from Asia, New Zealand, North America, South America, the Himalayas, Australia and Mediterranean regions are exhibited. After the botanical garden, we will head to Makhunseti Waterfall where you will have great opportunity for pictures. Then we will drive back to city and your afternoon is free to explore at your own pace.
After breakfast, we will drive to Turkey crossing at the Sarp border gate. Today we will explore the rich history of Trabzon that has historical heritage from Rome, Byzantium and Ottoman. Our first stop will be the Ataturk mansion, which is the most beautiful example of the city's civil architecture. On the road, we will see Trabzon Castle and Gulbahar Hatun Mosque. We will also visit small Hagia Sophia which is unique with its rare frescoes. Before we drive towards to Trabzon Airport, we will have a quick stop at Boztepe where the panoramic views of the city can be seen. Upon arrival to Istanbul airport, you will be met and driven to your hotel.
After breakfast our tour concludes and we say goodbye to our new friends and are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
